Darien Hsu Gee is the author of 5 novels published in 11 countries. She’s the recipient of a Poetry Society of America Chapbook fellowship for Other Small Histories, a Hawai‘i Book Publishers award for Writing the Hawaiʻi Memoir, and two IPPY awards for micro essay collections, Allegiance: Micro Essays and Nonwhite and Woman: 131 Micro Essays on Being in the World. Darien is a former board member of ZYZZYVA and Friends of the San Francisco Public Library, and currently serves on the board for Short Reads. She teaches creative nonfiction for UCLA Extension, Hugo House, Craft Talks, and Writer-ish on Substack, where she offers 10-minute guided micro prose writing sessions for free.
