Francesca Spiegel has an academic background in the Medical Humanities, Classics, and Gender Studies, that she activates creatively to reflect on justice and healing in mental health care and inspire a healthier future. She lives in Los Angeles, where she’s a copywriter at Wells Fargo and is hard at work, after work, on her stories, essays, and book. Francesca gratefully acknowledges that writing this essay was made possible in part by her residency at the Catwalk Institute.
