Gregory Laski is an award-winning scholar, writer, and journalist who focuses on culture and civic life in the US, past and present. His reported features, essays, and reviews have appeared or are forthcoming in American Scholar, Los Angeles Review of Books, and Pittsburgh’s Public Source, among other outlets. He holds a PhD in English from Northwestern University and is at work on a narrative nonfiction book that explains why the stories that Americans told about revenge after the Civil War matter for ideas about racial justice today.
