Naheed Phiroze Patel is the author of Mirror Made of Rain (Unnamed Press, 2022 & HarperCollins India, 2021) and a writer of literary criticism, short fiction and personal essays. Her work has appeared in publications such as the New England Review, The Guardian, Wasafiri, Lit Hub, Poets & Writers, Chicago Review of Books, HuffPost, Scroll.in, BOMB Magazine, Public Books, The Rumpus, Asymptote Journal and elsewhere. Her debut novel was an NPR Book of the Day where it was praised as “a personal, empathetic view on mothers who society has deemed failures.” She has been awarded fellowships and awards from the University of Georgia and Columbia University, where she earned her MFA in fiction.
