Nyuol Lueth Tong was born in South Sudan and educated at Duke University, the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, and Yale University. Truman Capote Fellow and Forbes 30 Under 30 honoree, Tong’s writing has appeared in Gurtong, McSweeney’s, The Baffler, and elsewhere. He is the editor of There Is a Country: New Fiction from the New Nation of South Sudan (McSweeney’s, 2013) and In Their Faces a Landmark: Stories of Movement and Displacement (McSweeney’s, 2018).
