Oonagh Stransky’s recent translations include works by Montale, Dell’Oro, and Rigoni Stern. In addition to the two novels by Starnone mentioned above, Stransky has also translated his most recent book, The Old Man by the Sea, forthcoming in 2025 from Europa, and some of his early short stories about teaching. Born in Paris, Stransky grew up in Beirut, Jeddah, London, New Jersey, Boston, and Oakland. She studied Book Arts and Comparative Literature at Mills College and Italian at Middlebury College, UC Berkeley, the Università di Firenze, and Columbia University. She lives in Italy.
