Samantha Neugebauer’s debut story collection, Villains, is forthcoming (January 2027) from WWPH, and her craft book, Teaching Writing Through Story Reimaginings: Adaptation as Critical Practice, is forthcoming from Bloomsbury. She is a lecturer at NYU in Washington, D.C., and a senior editor at Painted Bride Quarterly. She is also the co-host of the YouTube channel Short Story Boudoir. Among other awards and prizes, she is a recent recipient of the Hawthornden Castle Fellowship in Scotland and a frequent contributor to the Washington Independent Review of Books.
