Samantha Xiao Cody

Samantha Xiao Cody is a queer, half-Chinese writer and violinist hailing from Silver Spring, Maryland. She won the Masters Review 2019 Winter Short Story Award and was a runner up in the Missouri Review’s 2020 Jeffrey E. Smith Editors’ Prize, and has work published or forthcoming in Best Small Fictions 2021, the New England Review, Split Lip Magazine, and elsewhere. She won a Best of the Net in 2021 and has multiple Pushcart nominations. She has received support from the Elizabeth George Foundation and the Iowa Writers’ Workshop, was formerly a physics major, and likes to knit. She is currently based in Philadelphia.
