Vesna Jaksic Lowe runs the Immigrant Strong newsletter and mostly writes creative nonfiction about her immigrant experience. Her bylines include three anthologies (Back Where I Came From: On Culture, Identity, and Home; and Connecticut Literary Anthology 2024 and 2023) as well as The New York Times, The Washington Post, The New York Daily News, Catapult, and Pigeon Pages. She has participated in residencies and workshops at Hedgebrook, Kenyon Review, and Tin House, and won fellowships from Martha’s Vineyard Institute of Creative Writing’s Institute. A former award-winning reporter, she now works for nonprofits in the international affairs and human rights space.
