Help Give Away 500,000 Wonderful Books

World Book Night (WBN) 2014 is coming, and applications are now open! WBN is an annual event during which “tens of thousands of people go out into their communities and give half a million free World Book Night paperbacks to light and non-readers.”

I’ve personally done this for the last two years and it’s a great way to meet your neighbors and do some good for the local and literary community.

The books you can give away includes classics and bestsellers, as well as titles for a variety of ages. This year’s list includes The Perks of Being a Wallflower, Catch-22, Wild, The Tipping Point, and Bridge to Terabithia. (No, you’re not allowed to keep any of the books for yourself.)

World Book Night is April 23, 2014. But you should apply to be a book giver now. Do it here.
