Geetha Iyer writes fiction, nonfiction, and the occasional poem or comic, usually about people or places in a state of ecological or social flux. Her work appears in Orion, Gulf Coast, Ecotone, Story, Split Lip, The Forge, and National Geographic. She is an Assistant Professor of English at Northern Arizona University, in Flagstaff, the Associate Editor of Creative Nonfiction at ISLE: Interdisciplinary Studies in Literature and Environment, and is enjoying a brief stint as volunteer editor at Crucial Comix. She received an MFA in Creative Writing & Environment from Iowa State University in 2014. She was born in India, raised in the United Arab Emirates, and calls Panama a waystation home.
