Janice Obuchowski is the author of The Woods, winner of the John Simmons Short Fiction Award (University of Iowa Press, 2022). Her stories have twice received special mention in the Pushcart Prize anthologies and have appeared or are forthcoming in Electric Literature, Crazyhorse, Alaska Quarterly Review, Iowa Review, Gettysburg Review, Conjunctions online, and LitHub. She earned her BA from Cornell, her MA from the University of Virginia, and her MFA from UC Irvine. Previously, she served as a fiction editor for the New England Review and has taught at the University of Vermont and Middlebury College. She lives in Middlebury, Vermont.
