Joanna Pearson’s first novel, Bright and Tender Dark, is forthcoming with Bloomsbury in 2024. She is the author of two short story collections, Now You Know It All (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2021), chosen by Edward P Jones for the 2021 Drue Heinz Literature Prize, and Every Human Love (Acre Books, 2019). Her fiction has recently appeared or is forthcoming in Best American Short Stories 2023, Best American Mystery and Suspense 2021, Colorado Review, Sewanee Review, Subtropics, and The Missouri Review, among other publications. She lives with her family near Chapel Hill, NC, where she works as a psychiatrist.
