Rachel Kushner is the author of two novels, The Flamethrowers and Telex from Cuba, both nominees for the National Book Award for Fiction. The Strange Case of Rachel K, a slim book of her early writing, was published by New Directions in Spring 2015. Kushner’s fiction and essays have appeared in The New Yorker, Harper’s, The Paris Review, and elsewhere.
