A Public Space is an independent magazine of literature and culture, founded in 2006. We publish fiction, essays, poetry, photography and graphic narratives, as well as Focus portfolios that explore the intersection of private lives and public history. Across 22 issues to date, over 250 authors and artists from around the world have appeared in our pages, including the debut publications of writers such as Leslie Jamison and Jesmyn Ward, the work of other vital voices such as Charles D’Ambrosio, Stuart Dybek, Amy Leach, Kelly Link, John Haskell, and Marilynne Robinson, and literary works in translation by authors as varied as Kerstin Ekman, Guillermo Fadanelli, Goli Taraghi, Alain Mabanckou, and Sandro Veronesi.
