Christopher Ankney grew up in Defiance, Ohio, at the confluence of the Maumee and Auglaize Rivers. He earned a B.A. in Creative Writing at Miami University in 2004 and a M.F.A. in Poetry at Columbia College Chicago in 2006. He was a John Woods Scholar at Western Michigan University’s 2005 Prague Summer Program, and his work has been nominated for multiple Pushcarts. His poems have appeared in journals such as Gulf Coast, Fourteen Hills, Hayden’s Ferry, Hunger Mountain, Linebreak, Prairie Schooner, and Nashville Review.
