Melanie Pierce is a fiction writer who grew up as a conservative Evangelical Christian in Oklahoma. She holds an MFA from Stony Brook University, where she taught undergraduate creative writing and served as an editor for The Southampton Review. Her stories have appeared in Pleiades, The Pinch, The Tishman Review, and others. Currently, she is a writer-in-residence at the Charlotte Street Foundation and an associate fiction editor at the West Trade Review. She lives in Kansas City and is at work on a novel.
