Melanie Pierce is a fiction writer who grew up as a conservative Evangelical Christian in Oklahoma. She holds an MFA from Stony Brook University, and her stories and interviews have appeared in Vol. 1 Brooklyn, Electric Literature, Pleiades, The Pinch, and elsewhere. She lives in Kansas City, where she is a studio resident at the Charlotte Street Foundation, an associate at The Story Center at Mid-Continent Public Library, and a writing lecturer at the Kansas City Art Institute.
