Naomi J. Williams is the author of Landfalls, long-listed for the Center for Fiction First Novel Prize. She lives in Sacramento, CA, and teaches for the low-res MFA program at Ashland University. “Brocade” is part of an in-progress collection of retold Japanese tales inspired by the work of Lafcadio Hearn.
