Zen Ren is a queer first generation Chinese American writer in Austin, Texas. Their work is published or forthcoming in New England Review, Nimrod, Boulevard, Curbed, and Full House Literary. They were a ’23 PEN America Emerging Voices Fellow and have been awarded winner of Nimrod’s ’23 New Writer Award for Fiction, finalist for Glimmer Train’s Fiction Contest, and winner of Sine Theta’s Poetry Contest. Their poetry has been nominated for a Pushcart. In the daytime they do research around AI and data. When not writing, they’re knitting, sewing, or surfskating. Say hi at @zenbyhand!
