Margaret McCarthy is a writer, playwright, performer and proud mother of her favorite three-year-old. For nine years, she was an ensemble member of the SF Neo-Futurists, with whom she wrote and performed over 250 short plays, appearing onstage at (probably) every black box theater in San Francisco. She has performed solo work at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, SOMArts, and Artist Television Access. Her writing has appeared in publications including Bather’s Mini-Mag, Poets Reading the News, and is forthcoming in the San Francisco Review of Whatever. She currently runs a reading group about being an artist and a parent via Bather’s Library in Oakland, and is on the board of the Center for Artistic Activism. Find more of her writing on art and parenthood on Substack at motherhoodinfinearts.
